Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

It is Sunday today.  We awoke to a few inches of snow on the ground and watched as the flakes continued to fall.  As we headed out for our drive to church in Barrie I thought…”I wonder if we should be doing this?”  As we poked along the 400 we noticed that the cars were all slowing down.  I thought for sure there had been an accident.  I must say God was watching out for us, for the delay was caused by snowplows clearing our way.  We arrived at church about 30 minutes late, but in one piece.  We surprised some folks.  They couldn’t believe we drove all of the way from Bradford to Barrie on a snowy day such as we had today.  Anyway, after church we headed home in a raging blizzard!  Many times along the way there were whiteouts.  I was so glad Philip was driving!  I hate the stress of not being able to see the road.  As it was, the wipers were streaking across Philip’s side of the windshield.

Once at home we settled in and  took our rest.  Around 4:00 Philip and the kids headed out to shovel the driveway.  Philip estimates that we had about 8-10 inches covering, although I think after shovel full #439 it felt like 20 inches.   Pulling the car back into the driveway was yet another adventure.  The tires got stuck and the car bottomed out.  I am so thankful for good neighbours (Thanks Kevin and David!!!)  It will be interesting to see what turn of events will present themselves to us tomorrow.

Two Updates

I just noticed that it has been quite a while since we wrote anything. So we have a couple of things to tell you.

300th GeocacheFirst of all we got our 300th geocache! Cindy found an ingeniously hidden cache in Innisfil. DrMoo is a husband and wife team that take a lot of pride in hiding caches in plain sight that are hard to find. Cindy was thrilled that a DrMoo cache was our 300th. We were also really glad to get a chance to talk to them when we attended a geocachers’ get-together. It was really interesting to meet people we had only seen “online”. It was also interesting that since we only knew each other through our online names, we continued to use them in person.

We also recently made another trek down to Ithaca. Of course we geocached. We also got to have US Thanksgiving. It was good seeing family again. Ken and Sue and the boys met us there so the whole family was together. Check out the photo album for a few pictures.
